Chicago Blackhawks defender Brent Seabrook returns to the ice

Defender of the Chicago Blackhawks Brent Seabrook has returned to the ice after his season was interrupted shortly after the operation.

The 35-year-old last played in December before undergoing three operations on the right shoulder (December 27), left hip (January) and right hip (February 6). Seabrook was seen wearing a white non-contact helmet during Thursday’s volunteer training.

He played for the Blackhawks in just 32 games in 2019-20, scoring three goals and four points. After his surgery in February, Seabrook was given a recovery period of five to six months.

The Blackhawks will face the Edmonton Oilers in the qualifying round when the game resumes in August. Defender Calvin De Haan was also training after shoulder surgery in December.

“He is a warrior,” Stan Bowman, general manager of Chicago, told Seabrook in January. “He never once complained about the things he was dealing with. When he finally took a step back and looked at what he had been through for a long time, some of these injuries had been there for several years, but he was the guy who never wanted to talk about it, just bow his head and keep playing. I think he deserves a lot of appreciation or admiration for the way he handled it. He’s a real character player. He was a big part this team. “”
