Chicago Blackhawks’ Andrew Shaw will not participate in NHL’s Return to Play

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw will not participate in the return of the NHL as it will take the additional five months to recover from a concussion and is expected to return for the 2020-21 season.

The 28-year-old shared a social media post in which he and his family “made the difficult decision that these additional five months until next season would be beneficial to my health and recovery.”

Shaw hasn’t played since November 30th because of a concussion. In his post, he also states that he is about to be completely cured of his last and previous concussions.

In 26 games in 2019-20 he had three goals and 10 points. Shaw won two Stanley Cup championships with the Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he spent three seasons with the Montreal Canadiens.
