Chelsea residents without energy after the dump truck crashes into the service pole, rips wires – Boston News, Weather, Sports

CHELSEA, MASSA. (WHDH) – Some Chelsea residents are out of energy after a tipper truck driver hit a service pole and pulled down the cables on Tuesday morning.

Officers who responded to an incident related to the intersection between Essex and Pearl Street found that the damaged vehicle was covered by power lines before 9:00 am, according to a post on the Chelsea Police Department Instagram page.

The driver was finishing work on the asphalt when he hit the pole, police said.

Eversource crews are assessing the damage and Verizon will be responsible for making the necessary repairs.

There are no estimates of when the power will be restored.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
