Chelsea and Man United receive Jude Bellingham’s update as a midfielder set to seal the transfer

Jude Bellingham seems ready to join Borussia Dortmund.

The young midfielder has shone in the league for the city of Birmingham this season, bringing the interest of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Yet the Blues seem destined to lose Bellingham, the seventeen year old is said to be close to closing a move in the Bundesliga.

Journalist Bild Christian Falk shared the news on Twitter, revealing that an agreement had been made for the young man.

Falk said: “True: Borussia Dortmund and Jude Bellingham are a done deal.”

While the Blues were interested in Bellingham, the news is unlikely to cause excessive shock to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have long been considered the third favorite to sign Bellingham behind Dortmund and Manchester United.

The news represents a major blow for United, however, with the club having previously shown the training ground to the midfielder in an attempt to convince him to move to Old Trafford.

According to recent reports, United could allow Dortmund to run freely in Bellingham in an attempt to convince the German club to reduce the asking price for Jadon Sancho, another Chelsea-related player this summer.

Sancho’s progress in Dortmund was said to have been a major factor in making the club such an attractive prospect for Bellingham.

This was also suggested by Birmingham manager Pep Clotet, who said the player needs constant first team exposure in his next team, despite his young age.

“I also understand that there are opportunities abroad where player development is something that needs to be considered too,” said Clotet.

“The only thing I would say is that whatever he chooses or wherever he goes, he takes the same ambition he has here, the same pride, the same attention to be better and help the team.”
