Another day, another time to enjoy the latest transfer news.
This extended Premier League season isn’t over yet, but after Spurs and Everton’s meeting last night, there are only five games left for each team.
It will not be long before the summer transfer window opens, and it will be interesting to see how that develops in a different form.
Two of the main characters are Thiago Alcantara and Philippe Coutinho, both of whom are currently at Bayern Munich and are likely to move for very different reasons.
Coutinho, who is on loan in Bavaria, is not wanted by the Bavarians and his parents’ association Barcelona. They have bought it and want to sell it or at least conclude a loan agreement that pays a reasonable fee and a large part of his wages in the next term. Given his renewed battles this season, it could be tough.
Thiago lit up in Munich, but wants a new challenge after seven years. His contract runs in 2021, but Bayern want him to leave this summer for a transfer fee if he wants to leave like that. The Premier League is said to be his preferred destination … and we are all for it !.
