Battered Again Man City, Liverpool Most Parties, huh?

Manchester

Liverpool battered Manchester City 0-4, a week after ensuring themselves as champions of the English League. The Reds were mocked mostly by partying.

At the Etihad Stadium on Friday (3/7/2020) early morning local time, Pep Guardiola’s team had three goals in the first half through Kevin De Bruyne (25 ‘), Raheem Sterling (35’), and Phil Foden (45 ‘) . Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s own goal (66 ‘) fulfilled the suffering of Jordan Henderson et al in that match.

The match in the 32nd week actually did not mean anything to Liverpool. Premier League title already in hand, you could say completing the season is just a formality.

But no one thought Liverpool would look that relaxed. Their fragile defense is so easily breached the City’s attack line.

No wonder they were laughed at earlier in the match. Celebration of champions after a long wait for 3 decades is considered to be the culprit behind the sagging performance in Manchester.

“Considering they have been partying without sleep for the last three days, I think Liverpool are doing well today,” chanted the Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, on his Twitter account.

Likewise, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville also commented on Liverpool’s performance. In particular he highlighted Andy Robertson, who was considered responsible for Foden’s goal.

“He (Robertson) has been outstanding for the last two seasons with Liverpool, but tonight he seems to have been drinking for a week,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“They will feel embarrassed by this defeat, and Juergen Klopp will also not like it, but in the next few days they will also forget,” said the man who is now a pundit.
