Barcelona legend Xavi announces that he has tested positive for Covid-19

Barcelona legend Xavi announced he tested positive for Covid-19 in an Instagram post.

The Al-Sadd coach is preparing for the restart of the season in Qatar, which was suspended in March, but will now self-isolate until his safe return.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Today I will not be able to accompany my team in the return to the official competition. David Prats, coach of the AlSadd branch, will take my place as head of the technical team.

“A few days ago, following the QSL protocol, I tested positive in the last COVID19 test. Fortunately I’m fine, but following the protocol, I will remain isolated until I pass it. When the medical services allow me, I will be more involved in my daily routine and work than ever.

“I thank all the authorities, in particular the managers of QSL, QFA and AlSadd for providing us with all the means for early diagnosis which prevent further infections and ensure the normal development of competition.

“A hug and see you soon on the football fields!”

We all wish Xavi a quick and quick recovery and hope that he will come back safely and soon.
