Arizona Diamondback pitcher Mike Leake becomes the first known player to give up on the MLB 2020 season

The Washington Nationals may not be located in the state of Maryland, but that hasn’t stopped them from attracting more fans to the area than the Baltimore Orioles in 2019.

According to the Active Times, which stopped selling 2019 tickets state by state through Vivid Seats, it was the citizens who emerged as Maryland’s best team. Citizens also took the crown in Virginia and Washington DC, giving the World Series champions a cleanse of the DMV.

The results south of the district are not too shocking, as the national teams are the home team in DC and located closest to Virginia. As for Maryland, the 2019 season for Washington and Baltimore lends itself to the Dutch team bringing more fans.

Despite a slow start, Washington changed things and headed for the World Series. That success will always match a larger crowd at the ballpark, especially for those in the area. On the other hand, the Orioles spent 2019 in the early stages of a rebuild, which means that winning hasn’t come as often as some might hope for. The team has a beautiful baseball field and some of baseball’s most loyal fans, but there is no denying that some games during the campaign were a bit difficult to watch.

As for the 2020 season, there is no telling who the most popular team is, at least in terms of ticket sales. With few or no fans who should be present, it will only have to be called a tie.
