Aouchiche confirms the release of PSG among the interests of Borussia Dortmund

The 17-year-old wonderkid has previously been linked to Arsenal, although he looks set to move to a destination in France or Germany

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a severe blow in the summer transfer window after Adil Aouchiche’s announcement that he will leave the club.

Rumors persist about his future for several months, but PSG hoped he could persuade the France Under-18 star, who starred in a handful of chances in the first team, to stay in the club.

The conditions for the young men on which he had expired expired on 30 June and Aouchiche has now confirmed that his future is elsewhere, after characters of the caliber of veterans Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva came out the door, despite Kylian Mbappe having made public the his desire for his young colleague to sign a new agreement.

While there has been interest from the Bundesliga – Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig have been accused of keeping the player in check – it is in France that Aouchiche appears to remain after having undergone medical treatment with Saint-Etienne on last month .

There has also been interest from Rennes and Lille, who have taken numerous young PSGs in recent years, including Timothy Weah, Mike Maignan, Jonathan Ikone and Boubakary Soumare.

Aouchiche, however, has been very attached to his future destination, although an Instagram post has confirmed that his time at the Parc des Princes is drawing to a close.

“A page turns,” he said. “Thanks in Paris for all these unforgettable moments.”

Since Aouchiche has never signed professional terms with PSG, he won’t recover a transfer fee for the seventeen-year-old, who has really announced himself as a player to watch at the 2019 European Under-17 Championship.

Although France exited that competition in the semi-finals, Aouchiche scored a record nine-game tournament in five games, including a hat-trick against Sweden in the group stage and four against the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals. He was subsequently appointed to the tournament team.

Under Thomas Tuchel, Aouchiche received three appearances in all competitions for the PSG senior team.

He made his first team debut in a 2-0 away win against Metz in late August 2019 and has appeared on the bench on three other occasions in Ligue 1. In the meantime, he has appeared twice in the Coupe de France, also if only as a substitute for the final seven minutes of the club’s 6-1 defeat on Dijon in the quarterfinals.
