Allgaier was taken to hospital for further investigation after an accident

Austin Cindric won the Xfinity race at Kentucky Speedway in extra time for his first win of the season on Thursday evening.

Cindric defeated Riley Herbst and Ross Chastain to claim victory. While it’s his third win in the Xfinity series, it’s Cindric’s first NASCAR win on an oval track.

“I don’t care what shape the track is, if it’s dirty, oval, I don’t care,” Cindric told FS1. “I’m just glad that this snap-on Ford Mustang is on Victory Lane. We got so close all year round. … I’m scratched up. This is fantastic. I would love to come back tomorrow night and do another performance like this. “

The Penske driver team led 41 of the 136 laps of the race.

The top 5 were completed by Chase Briscoe and Anthony Alfredo.

Briscoe was second in the overtime restart, but left turn 2 and fell behind. Cindric’s victory comes after Briscoe has won three of the last four races.

“I love the guy, but he won enough,” Cindric joked.

The overtime finish was achieved by a Harrison Burton spin on Turn 3 with four laps remaining in the planned distance.

The race was the first of a double header for Xfinity in Kentucky. The second race was scheduled for Friday evening at 8 p.m. ET. The top 15 drivers of today’s race will be inverted for tomorrow’s grid. Myatt Snider and Jesse Little will start in the front row.
