A bicycle track for a safe learning environment will be installed in Rainis Park in Sigulda

In addition to theoretical cycling training in Sigulda, Raina Park, an innovative cycling track “Velozinis” will be created, which, imitating obstacles in the urban environment, will develop cyclists from the age of three and teach them to overcome safe elements in the urban environment, for example, one maneuver hand, at the same time indicating the intended direction of travel, the local government reports.

As more and more people choose bicycles as a means of daily mobility, the need for safe and proper driving skills training is also growing. In addition to theoretical training, practical skills are also needed, so in cooperation with For better, the manufacturing company We build better and the insurance company BTA Baltic Insurance Company, a project has been created to enable everyone to learn cycling skills in safe conditions. In an innovative and safe learning environment – the Velozinis cycle track – everyone will have the opportunity to overcome various obstacles in the urban environment, developing a sense of balance and confidence in participating in a common traffic organization.

Sigulda County Council also informed that the rules of use and competition, guidelines and other materials have been developed for the use of the bicycle path, so that in the future the learning environment can be used for events, bicycle games, challenging oneself and friends, jointly improving cycling knowledge. It is planned that “Velozinis” in Rainis Park will be available to visitors in the middle of August.

It has already been reported that the opening of the first bicycle street in Latvia took place in Sigulda in June, where both cyclists and drivers share traffic.
