28 corona events at a club

The corona virus is spreading in the team of the Spanish soccer second division club CF Fuenlabrada. The group has been stuck in a hotel for over a week and is also blocking the league finals and the promotion round.

BCoronavirus is spreading ever further in the Spanish soccer second division club CF Fuenlabrada. As the club announced on Saturday, twelve additional team members were tested positively during another test round. In total, 28 people have already been infected within the team. The entire entourage has been stuck in a hotel in La Coruna for over a week, no one should leave their hotel room.

The aspirant for promotion was already in the last game of the season in the Galicia region before the first Corona cases were discovered and the game had to be canceled. Fuenlabrada is currently blocking the race for the last place of promotion. With a win in the catch-up game against Deportivo La Coruna, the suburb of Madrid would still qualify for the play-off round, the other teams in positions three to six are therefore doomed to wait.

La Coruna was powerlessly relegated after the game was canceled due to the results of the direct rivals. Club president Fernando Vidal has already announced legal steps.
