Twenty percent of the major league baseball teams had to postpone Friday night’s games because of positive corona virus tests.
The sport has been back for just over a week, and on Friday, games between the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays, as well as Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals, were rescheduled due to the corona virus.

MLB Network and others reported that the last shift was the game between the Brewers and Cardinals. It would have been the Brewers’ home opener in Miller Park. According to the report, the cardinals were the team with positive tests and were quarantined in their team hotel.
It is unclear whether the entire weekend series will be postponed. MLB has not yet officially announced the move on Friday.
The Marlin outbreak triggered an alarm throughout the sport on Sunday when four players tested positive for the corona virus. 17 players and coaches were reportedly infected with the virus during the week. MLB paused their season because of the outbreak.

The Phillies, who played against the Marlins last weekend, had two employees test positive for the virus and forced their series against the Blue Jays to be postponed. The Phillies had postponed a series against the New York Yankees earlier this week.
MLB released a statement on Marlins on Monday.
“The health and safety protocols were developed taking into account challenging circumstances such as those of the Marlins. The response described in the MLB-MLBPA joint operations manual was triggered immediately after the group of positive cases including contact tracking and quarantine became known and testing all identified close contacts. The positive Marlins staff remains isolated and looked after, “said MLB in a statement.
The statement goes on to say: “In more than 6,400 tests conducted since Friday, July 24th, none of the other 29 clubs had new positive results on site.
