WR DeSean Jackson of the Eagles, QB rookie Jalen Hurts trains in Florida

The Eagles – and the rest of the NFL – have not had an OTA or minicamps so far this offseason, and coaches and staff have recently returned to the NovaCare Complex. The only official work that the team has accomplished together has been distant.

Despite COVID-19 limitations, players have had a handful of in-person contact – Brandon Graham and Darius Slay have worked together in Michigan, Rodney McLeod and Will Parks (with a special cameo by Malcolm Jenkins) have hit the pitch for some practice, etc … – and now DeSean Jackson trained with the team’s second round pick, QB Jalen Hurts.

Without a doubt, Hurts was the most surprising choice for Philadelphia in the NFL draft, but coaches and the front office touted his presence in the locker room and his ability to play as determining factors in the selection. Head coach Doug Pederson has repeatedly stressed that Hurts will be trained as a quarterback, and any other attacking role would be a secondary concern.

Hurts will have a well deserved leg once the team (hopefully) starts training camp next month through work with the team’s main deep threat.
