Who is the greatest tennis player in the past 50 years? | Sports

There will be no Wimbledon this year, but we can still have a good debate about tennis. Who do you think is the greatest player in the past 50 years? Our writers will introduce key candidates this week before our tennis correspondent Kevin Mitchell delivers his verdict on Saturday. We would be happy to hear your opinion on this.

Some players might say they’re the best of the best. Chris Evert reached 34 Singles Grand Slam Finale. Steffi Graf was number 1 in the world for 377 weeks. Martina Navratilova won a total of 59 Grand Slam titles. Monica Seles was the French Open champion at 16 and had won eight slams before her 20th birthday. And, of course, Serena Williams won 23 individual Grand Slam titles – a record in the Open era. Which of these sizes was the largest – or do we miss someone from our shortlist? Let us know your opinion in the form below.
