West Indian coach Phil Simmons is in short-term self-isolation after attending his father-in-law’s funeral and has since tested negative for corona virus twice, team leaders said on Sunday.
Before starting her three-test tour of England, Simmons had already asked for permission to leave the team’s bio-safe bladder at Old Trafford in Manchester.

“The entire process of leaving and re-entering the bio-safe site has been approved and managed by the medical teams at Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB),” said a statement.
Simmons traveled to the small private family cremation and returned on Friday. “After his return, Simmons was isolated from other members of the squad, as always.
“He’s completed two Covid 19 tests since Friday – both of which were negative. He’ll have another test on Wednesday before joining the squad to prepare for the three-game series against England.”
The first triple test against England begins on July 8th in Southampton, another bio-safe location.
All games are played behind closed doors.
