Well, you can’t blame Leon Rose for sitting on his hands. The Knicks team president continues his search to redesign the squad this week – at least in passing. On Thursday, he fired two-way contractor Kadeem Allen for former Suns G Leaguer Jared Harper. In order not to be surpassed, he signed cute Allonzo Trier from the regular 15-man squad on Friday to sign the former Brooklyn Net Theo Pinson.
The Allonzo Trier era in New York came and went quickly – from the front office, which converted its two-way contract into a two-year contract, and today, as SNY reported for the first time, the new front office lifted it to make room for a waiver to create claim picking up Theo Pinson.

Pinson played for the UNC Tar Heels before signing on the Nets as an vacant free agent two years ago. He appeared in 51 NBA games and averaged 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Here he drops 19 points against a collection of peels.
During his two-year stay in New York, Trier became a discussion figure. He certainly had his share of followers, most of whom began defending the 6’5 ”guard with the statement“ REAL tires know … ”. He actually started Game 1 of the 2019-20 season at Point Guard. But he never had much playing time this season and it seemed like the front office was tired of him. He also spent far too much time on Twitter with his critics.
Welcome to the Knicks, Theo Pinson. Happy trails, Trier!
