The former European judo champion Katrin Beinroth died in Germany

At just 38, German Katrin Beinroth, European champion in judo, died in a dream in 2003. She triumphed at the time in Duesseldorf in the open category. For seven years she had the name of her husband Simper.

The German representative stood on the podium in the European Championship three times, in 2004 and 2005 in Bucharest and Rotterdam she reached for bronze in weight +78 kg. In 2008, she took fifth place in the open category at the world championships in Levallois.

In her career she fought, among others three times with the best Polish athlete of the last years of the heavy category Urszula Sadkowska. According to official figures, these fights took place in 2007 and 2008, and the balance sheet was favorable for Beinroth 2-1.

In Poland, the German judoka took part in, among others in 1999 in Cetniewo, where she won the junior competition.
