This is the grand finale of the prospective rankings of the 2019-20 NBA Rookie scale.
The genesis of this project came from the moment I considered that baseball and hockey have huge public infrastructures for classifying organizationally controlled perspectives. For example, the hockey team here at The Athletic is exceptional with Corey Pronman providing detailed rankings each year of each perspective within each team. On the baseball side, Fangraphs literally ranks every perspective known to man. Because we couldn’t do something like this with basketball, I wondered.
So in that sense, I tried to break down and classify each prospect with property rights of an NBA team. First, I ranked them within the team and discussed which players had the brightest futures in the future. Then I decided that I wanted to make a massive, omnibus, top 50 in the ranking of the best prospects in the whole league.
