The charity Adria Tour series initiated by Novak Djokovic was to consist of five tournaments. However, the competition ended during the second event in Zadar, when Grigor Dimitrov was diagnosed with coronavirus infection. Then other participants of the struggle – Djoković, Borna Corić and Viktor Troicki informed about positive results of the COVID-19 test.
Srdjan Djoković, the father of a tennis player from Belgrade, was furious that the criticism of the events of Adria Tour fell on his son. He blamed Dimitrov himself. – He’s sick, who knows where. It wasn’t tested there, but somewhere else. I can’t believe it’s true. Well what to do. He caused huge damage to Croatia, to us as a family and to the whole of Serbia – he said in an interview with RTL.
Nick Kyrgios was critical of these words. The Australian posted a quote from Srdjan’s interview on his Instastory, adding a comment: “No, brother, don’t blame.”
Kyrgios had already admonished the organization of Adria Tour and the behavior of the participants of the cycle. “This is what happens when you disregard all previously agreed rules. There is no joke with this virus,” he wrote when information about Troicki and Coricus infections appeared.
Things are not exactly settling down.
