The Scottish premiership clubs have received government approval to resume contact training on Monday.
The suspension of all Scottish football activities was lifted on June 11, but only for high-profile clubs that were supposed to train at a distance after the coronavirus crisis.
However, the latest development offers clubs five weeks of contact training before the Scottish Premiership season begins.
A statement from the Scottish Football Joint Response Group stated: “The Joint Response Group can now confirm that ministers have officially approved full contact training for Scottish Premiership clubs starting tomorrow, June 29th.
“We would therefore like to encourage the clubs to inform all team members as soon as possible to simplify the updated guidelines, and to make it clear that the approval for a full contact training covers all the requirements of phase 4, which are included in the protocols released on Friday for returning to Joint Response Group training.
“Ministers stressed that this return to full contact training depends on compliance with public health measures, including testing.”
A spokesman added: “Today’s confirmation of the Scottish government ministers is welcomed and is another important step in resuming the Scottish football season, starting with the Premiership on August 1st.”
