Red Bull KTM signs a contract with Kairoli – Motorsports – Auto for another season

Cairo will start in the strongest motocross class for 18 years in a row.

The Italian joined the team in 2010 and immediately won the MX-1 class. In 2014, he celebrated his first success in the MXGP class, which he did again in 2017.

The KTM team with Kairoli has won a total of six titles.

“I am motivated to have a good year next season, so I am glad that the team managed to extend the contract for another season. We will see what 2020 will bring, but I want to win both this year and next,” said Cairoli after signing the contract. “I’m glad to be part of the KTM production team for so many years, and I want to keep making new entries in the history books.”

Peet Beirer, the director of KTM motorsports, was also pleased to keep the driver in the team, who emphasized that Cairoli could have left the unit a long time ago.

“We have no doubt that Cairoli will strive for the tenth title this season or next year. We are glad to have Jorge, Antonio and Jeffrey in our ranks. We believe that this three, together with the team mechanics, will be able to win the title,” Beirer said.

Next season, Spaniard Jorge Prado and Jeffrey Herling will also be on the team.

During his career, Cairoli celebrated two victories in the MX2 class, from 2009 to 2013 he was unbeaten in the MX1 class, but MXGP titles were won in 2014 and 2017. In the MXGP class, the athlete has celebrated victory in 45 stages.

It has already been reported that the MXGP season could continue with a stage in Ķegums, where there will probably be two races instead of one.

The Ķegums stage was to take place on June 14, first it was moved to July 12, and then to August 9. It is currently the third stage in the seasonal calendar, or the first after the coronavirus pandemic.

The next stage of the season was scheduled for August 2 in Russia, but a few weeks ago it was postponed to October or November.

The goal of the championship “Infront Moto Racing” is to complete 10-12 stages in Europe from mid-August to the end of October.

The first two stages of the season took place at the beginning of March in Great Britain and the Netherlands, with Latvian Paul Jonas starting 2020 with unsuccessful starts. Jonas recently suffered a serious injury in one of his trainings, and it is unknown at this time when he would return to the track.
