Plíšková’s selection in Prostějov is 3-1 over Kvitová’s team

“It was a tough match with Bára, long and I’m glad that in the end it was the supertie-break and not the third set and that it was in my favor in the end,” the winner told reporters. She could benefit from the advice of coach David Kotyza, who previously also led Strýcová. She was glad that she was gradually getting into the rhythm. “The beginning was a bit slower, a lot of mistakes. The second set was already better and by the end I had already played a few winners there,” Muchová appreciated.

However, the joy of the Plíšková team did not last too long, as the Russian number one Ekaterina Alexandrovova in the following match she defeated 4-6 6-2 10-5 finalist of last year’s French Open Markéta Vondroušová, scored a point for the Pink Team Kvitová and compared the score to 1-1.

Alexandrovová forgot about unsuccessful matches from Prague and became a player of the elite world twenties. She lost the first set, but from the second set she dominated the aggressive game and clearly dominated the decisive tie-break. Both tennis players returned to the court today for the final doubles. There was a more successful Vondroušová by her side Kristýna Plíšková.

Before that, a fifteen-year-old junior flashed with a brave performance in the third singles Linda Fruhvirtováwhich after the smoothly lost first set with Tereza Martincova she took a step and won the second set. Martincová ruled in the decisive shortened game.

“It wasn’t easy at all, even though the first set was 6-1. Linda got on the horse and started to play well. She plays great, when it fits her, she really drives you,” Martincová appreciated the performance of the young opponent.

In the end, she defeated her and returned the leadership of the team led by the third player in the world, Plíšková, who also won the first part of this event. In Prague, the Pink Team defeated Petra Kvitová 7-4, this time after the first of three playing days, they have a two-point lead.

This time Captain Kvitová should also intervene in the fighting. She did not get to the court on Štvanice due to problems with her left forearm, but the condition of her hand improved and in Prostějov she could also present herself in singles.

There are always three singles and one doubles every tournament day. Individual duels cannot be repeated during one tournament, which in practice means that different opponents will compete against each other every day. Beginnings are scheduled for noon.

The tournament will return to Štvanice after the end of the Prostějov competition, where it will be played from 11 to 13 July and from 25 to 27 July. There, 14 days ago, the team of the Czech number one Plíšková triumphed with a ratio of 7-4.

Each played steak will be awarded fifty crowns from the organizer, which will then be doubled by the Tipsport Foundation. The winning team will receive a check throughout the series with the amount they donate to charity at their own discretion.
