Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly planning to outsource some of Manchester United’s big earners this summer to raise funds for Jadon Sancho’s signing.
Any deal for Borussia Dortmund’s winger will be expensive as his current club demands £ 110m to sell the England international.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, United’s chiefs are uncomfortable saying so much about a player and deputy chairman that Ed Woodward Solskjaer said he needed to raise additional funds through sales.
Lowering labor costs is a priority for the Manchester United manager, which is why Alexis Sanchez is at the top of his list of players to be unloaded.
Jesse Lingard will also leave the club, and his colleague Andreas Pereira will also likely walk out the front door.
English center-backs Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are also up for sale, according to The Mirror.
Solskjaer wants to get rid of them all, but accepts that Sanchez’s £ 400,000 weekly wages could be a sticking point.
The Chilean international has been loaned out to Inter Milan this season, and another loan contract may be easier to arrange.
Lingard’s value has been declining recently and United coaches have been surprised by the dramatic drop in his performance.
However, they still want £ 20m for the England international while expecting to raise about £ 10m and £ 15m from Smalling and Jones’ sales, respectively.
They would also cut labor costs to account for Sancho’s £ 170,000 weekly wage.
