Notably, one of the players who was a part of the match has tested positive for the coronavirus. This player is Nikola Jankovic. Unfortunately, Nikola developed no symptoms and was hence not diagnosed at an earlier date.

Since then, he’s come into contact with numerous people who will all have to maintain social isolation. One of the numerous distinguished guests was Novak Djokovic who came as he was in Belgrade. It must be noted that Novak is being criticized for violating social distancing rules in another incident.

Which other incident is Novak Djokovic being blamed for?

Novak Djokovic has organized an exhibition tennis tournament in Belgrade being promoted as the Adria Tour. Earlier, Dominic Thiem had emerged victorious after a series of good performances.

However, what caught controversy was a football match that took place before the tennis started. As was visible by pictures and videos uploaded by the players themselves, they routinely hugged each other and got in huddles during the match. All of them were bashed for this online for failing to maintain responsibility as a socially respected personality.

Such incidents of irresponsibility can seriously jeopardize the trust of the authorities in sports tournaments. They might think twice before giving the green signal to any event. Reports have indicated that both the US Open and The French Open are on track.

However, the players will have to ensure that they don’t make a mockery of safety standards. Only then can the organization of a tournament appear adequately reasonable. If that doesn’t happen then the entire point of the tournament being organized is called into some serious question by the fans as well as by the extra cautious tennis authorities.
