Mikel Arteta said he faced Arsenal’s “problem” and found a solution for the summer transfer

Arsenal have been invited to buy a new full back right this summer and replace the “problem” Hector Bellerin.

The Gunners have lost both of their first two games since the Premier League restart with their brutally exposed defensive frailties.

Mikel Arteta’s team was well beaten by Manchester City last week after David Luiz was sent off and gave a 2-0 victory for Pep Guardiola’s team.

So struggling Brighton managed to produce a 2-1 return over the weekend to aggravate a paltry return to the club in North London.

Now in 10th place in the standings – and 11 points from the pace behind Chelsea placed – Arsenal will try to rebuild their team for next season.

Spanish Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has been described as a “problem” for manager Mikel Arteta

And talkSPORT radio host Tony Cascarino believes that Arteta’s first port of call should be to sign a new right back to replace the young Spaniard Bellerin.

“Their right-back position is a problem,” said former Chelsea star Aston Villa and Celtic.

“Hector Bellerin is not a good right back for me. It is fast, it is pleasant to the eye. I don’t think he’s a great defender, I never did.

“But who is pressuring him? [Ainsley] Maitland-Niles has become a kind of wing, but it won’t.

“On the other hand, they are fine. [Bukayo] Saka can play left back, [Kieran] Tierney can play left back, no problem. “

Cascarino, 57, believes that Arteta will cut his job this summer and believes that the new Gunners’ boss should also strengthen his midfield.

“They don’t have goals in midfield,” he added.

“It’s all very heavy with [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Nicolas] Pepper, [Gabriel] Martinelli – that kind of strikers.

“Personally I think that until they have a team ethic in that club and that means everyone will contribute – the defenders’, midfielders’ and attackers’ contributors – that the club will stop.

Arteta saw his Arsenal team lose two games during the resumption of the Premier League season

“There must be some huge decisions made by Arteta about senior members of his team who will have to leave.

“Even if it makes them a little poorer, he has to make big calls on some players.”

Arsenal will travel to Southampton on Thursday and will need a win to keep Europe’s hopes alive for next season.
