‘Mercedes’ changes color to black and engages in an anti-racism campaign

A few days before the start of the new season, the Mercedes team has released a photo with their new black car paint.

According to the team itself, this step will address the problem of racism in the world and thus launch a campaign for racial diversity.

Mercedes has traditionally started with a car painted in silver tones, which started back in 1954, when the company made its Formula 1 debut.

The painting has retained the green accents in honor of the title sponsor “Petronas” and small red elements in honor of INEOS.

The overalls of both pilots Louis Hamilton and Walter Botass will also be black, and the riders will adjust the color of their helmets accordingly.

Among other things, the team itself is ready to consider a special program to promote racial diversity in its unit, as only 3% of Mercedes employees currently belong to minority ethnic groups.
