Maurizio Sarri: Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo Must Continue to Play

Ronaldo appeared impressive when Juve beat Lecce with four goals without reply and his ability to improve will be increasingly present.

The ability of Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is believed Maurizio Sarri will increase along with the frequency he is played.

Ronaldo scored from the spot when the Bianconeri won 4-0 over Lecce so they are now seven points ahead of Lazio in the Scudetto hunt.

Ronaldo now has 23 Serie A goals this season but the star has been highlighted because he has been declining after the competition which was plagued by the Covid-19 pandemic began again.

“Cristiano is playing fit now. He has to improve after the break and that is being done from one game to another,” Sarri said before reporters.

“He must continue playing. In the future we will find a way to protect him from a busy schedule.”

“He knows the limits and will realize when to stop and rest, but for now he is in shape.”

After playing out a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes, Juventus managed to crush Lecce in the second half. Paulo Dybala, Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Matthijs de Ligt listed their names on the scoreboard while Fabio Lucioni was sent off.

Ronaldo spoiled Dybala to score a brilliant goal in the 53rd minute before he doubled the score from the spot nine minutes later.

Ronaldo also had a role when Higuain found the net in the 83rd minute, while De Ligt perfected a beautiful night for the Old Lady.

Sarri then answered the question of doubt against Higuain. “For us he is very important. He is strong, one of the strongest strikers in the world today. He could be decisive for us at the end of the season.”

“On a personal and global level, Higuain is undergoing an unpleasant time. Corona virus is very influential.”

“He came back and had a minor problem, but now is starting to find fitness again. I’m glad he immediately scored. He is a player who will contribute greatly to the rest of the competition.”

Sarri also stressed that he did not worry about the future of Miralem Pjanic who was later heavily linked with Barcelona.
