Sane’s most likely target is Bayern Munich in his home country of Germany – but United legend Dwight Yorke has suggested that the Red Devils try their luck.
United is currently connected to Borussia Dortmund’s star Jadon Sancho. However, should a change be too expensive, Sane would be a cheaper option since his contract expires in 2021.
“United have a really good group of young players,” Yorke told Stadium Astro. “Add in Sancho, I like the boy Sane. If I were to fly from the air, I would really do the boy Sane in City [like].
“We don’t have a left foot winger. The boy [Mason] Greenwood has come to the fore lately, but I like Sane.
“I really think that this kid is probably the fastest of all and has a really good attitude.
“I know he has some injuries, but if I was brave if I was a Man United manager at the time, that would be the type I would choose.”
Yorke added that Sanes’ clear advantage over Sancho is his Premier League experience after helping City win two Premier League titles since arriving in 2016.
“He spent a few years in the Premier League, I watched him very closely, he’s a player I really like,” said Yorke.
