Lampard on Chelsea Gomes links
Frank Lampard has diminished the ties between Chelsea and Angel Gomes, while the young man seems ready to leave Manchester United.
Today (Tuesday) marks the last day of Gomes’ United contract, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealing that the nineteen year old has declined offers to stay at Old Trafford.
“You can ask Angel why he didn’t sign,” said Solskjaer at a press conference ahead of Tuesday’s United clash with Brighton. “He hasn’t signed yet, I don’t know what the behind the scenes talks are.
“Angel is an exceptional boy. Of course there are people around him who advise him to do different things. If he doesn’t sign, best wishes to Angel and I will continue his career. If he signs for us, let’s kick it. “
Chelsea have been rumored to be interested in bringing Gomes on a free transfer, but boss Lampard has rejected speculation.
When asked to investigate the links between Chelsea and Gomes, he said the following:
