According to the report, Manchester United was offered the opportunity to sign Willian from Chelsea.

The Brazilian international’s contract with Frank Lampard expires at the end of June and the wing has yet to agree on a new agreement.

Chelsea have until Tuesday’s end to reach an agreement with Willian that will keep him at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the Premier League campaign.

But if Willian doesn’t agree on new terms, he will leave Chelsea and be available with a free transfer.

According to MailOnline, Manchester United was offered the opportunity to sign Willian after the Chelsea contract ended.

But the report says the 31-year-old doesn’t fit the profile of the player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is targeting since manager United’s preference is to sign a young British talent.

Instead, United is prioritizing a move for Jadon Sancho, but is believed to be willing to delay its offer in order to reduce Borussia Dortmund’s asking price, which exceeds £ 100 million.

Willian, meanwhile, is awaiting a three-year contract and has refused to sign the two-year extension that has been proposed by Chelsea.

Speaking in May, Willian said: ‘The situation is difficult for this. I don’t really know if it will be possible [to stay].

‘My goal is to continue working and concentrate on the rest of the season, so that Chelsea can continue to win games.

‘I have a clear head and I am focused for the rest of the season that we have left. I think it is difficult [to stay]. Let’s see what happens. ‘
