Jesse Lingard “stayed a little detached” at Manchester United, says Dwight Yorke, with the out-of-the-ordinary director telling him that the time has come to “look elsewhere” in the next transfer window.

“We had a lot of hopes, he arrived in the ranking and we love him. He knows the team all the way, loves the football team and we thought he would go where Rashford is right now.
“At the moment he is a little detached and has to find another piece of equipment somewhere along the line. At the moment, this is not happening.

“At 27, you should be a little regular. If it isn’t happening, maybe he has to look elsewhere. But for now, he still has some games and has yet to prove himself.
“I think there is a bit of a question mark on his name right now, he is fully aware of it, there are no two ways to do it. He knows he’s not on the team and needs to do more to get back. “
Solskjaer has remained shy when he has asked about the future of Lingard in recent times, with the United chief who has not declared his full commitment to the 27-year-old and has not said that he can leave.
