Liga 1 Movistar: footballers will play in up to three teams in the Tournament Apertura restart after pandemic coronavirus Reimond Manco Jean Deza

Liga 1 Movistar needs to adapt to the changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic in Peru, but neither does it intend to affect soccer players or clubs. For this reason, the FPF (Peruvian Football Federation) also saw fit to modify some rules.

Until before the suspension of soccer by COVID-19, athletes were prohibited from playing by two different teams in the same tournament throughout the season. Remember that League 1 consists of an Opening and a Closing before decreeing a national champion.

However, the Apertura was not finished and will resume, as announced by Víctor Villavicencio, on August 7. The teams will keep the same number of points that they achieved in the first 6 dates and may have modifications in the templates.

The clubs sent a request to the Peruvian soccer entity to allow the transfer and participation of soccer players in the same tournament. The request was heard, so in the resumption of the Apertura Tournament players with a new shirt will be seen.

Reimond Manco and Jean Deza are the most famous cases in this regard. Despite having played in Binational and Alianza Lima in the Apertura respectively, they will be allowed to play for Grau and Binational, their new teams. In the same way, Víctor Villavicencio clarified another detail.

The manager of League 1 reported that footballers will be able to play for up to three teams. For example, Manco and Deza will still be able to sign for another team in the Clausura. The calendar was modified, so the Professional Football League accepted this change in the rule.
