Scans have confirmed that Carlton striker Jack Silvagni suffered a lung injury and a rib fracture in Saturday night’s win over Essendon.
Silvagni left the field in the second minute of the game and did not return after getting a hit in his middle section.
He was taken to the hospital, where he stayed overnight and underwent scans to confirm the extent of the injury.
At this point, the 22-year-old is expected to pause for at least a week.
