Latvian striker Valērijs Šabala scored on Sunday in the penultimate minute of the compensation time of the second half of the Lithuanian A league football championship game, cutting out the victory for Marijampole “Sūduva” team.

“Sūduva”, represented by Shabala and midfielder Gleb Klushkin, defeated Kaunas “Žalgiris” footballers with the guests 1: 0 (0: 0).
Both Latvian footballers got involved in the game in the second half – Kļuškins came on in the 69th minute, but Šabala in the 81st minute.
Šabala’s goal was scored in the second minute of the time, when the ball came into his possession after Kļuškina’s rebound. The Latvian striker hit the ball with his chest and hit it in the goal, reaching 1: 0.
For Sabal, this is the first goal in the Lithuanian Championship.
“Sūduva” with 19 points in seven games takes the first place in the tournament table, but Vilnius “Žalgiris” football players have six points and one match less. There are six teams playing in League A this season, which will play only 20 games instead of 30 matches.
