“I think” – Coventry City players in prospect of Liam Walsh’s return

Like most Coventry City fans, players are desperately hoping the club can hold the squad together and add a dash of fresh talent this summer.

Steps are already underway to sign Aston Villa’s lender, Callum O’Hare, who played a key role in the rise of sky blues this season.

It remains to be seen whether manager Mark Robins will try to get his colleague Liam Walsh back.

His situation is more complicated than that of Free Agent O’Hare. The 22-year-old has extended his contract from his mother club Bristol City by one year.

This means that Walsh, who was voted Player of the Year by his teammates, would cost money to get away from Ashton Gate, where he hasn’t made a name for himself since switching from Everton in 2018 to one not mentioned fee.

However, that won’t stop Coventry from trying, goalkeeper Marko Marosi said, “I’m sure the club will try to get him back 100 percent.

“We can only hope because it would be incredible if we could bring him back here because he is the same as Callum and absolutely loves it here.

“We all get along so well and that was really important.”

Meanwhile, Kyle McFadzean is less confident, but insists that things could fluctuate in Coventry’s favor if the player has a say.

“It would be nice if we could get him back next season, but it will probably cost too much to be honest,” said the 33-year-old central defender.

“He’s really happy here and I think he’d love to go back to Coventry, so you never know.

“I think it is better to be happy because you are performing better and your career seems to be going better if you are happier, but I can see he does well in Bristol City if he stays there.”
