Brutal and bitter end of a real horror season for Rick van Drongelen. After a good half hour in the HSV game against Sandhausen, the vice-captain twisted his left knee in a harmless duel. He went straight to the floor and screamed in pain. It was immediately clear that the Dutchman had been seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital before the game ended. The bitter diagnosis followed in the evening.
Van Drongelen has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. What a drama!

HSV has to plan the season without van Drongelen
It is the first serious injury in his career for the 21-year-old. The central defender will now be out for around eight months. The HSV will definitely have to plan the new season without the defense chief. A possible sale is now off the table. His contract in Hamburg runs until 2022.
