Given the comments made in this statement, Gloucester Rugby would like to clarify the position:

1. Gloucester Rugby has publicly promoted its role as head coach in the usual way. George Skivington (“GS”) Was the outstanding candidate who followed this process.

2. Gloucester Rugby understood that GS was not contractually prevented from joining the club. Gloucester Rugby, however, made a direct and uncomplicated effort to clarify the position of London Irish. This clarification was not made.

3. Gloucester Rugby is therefore surprised and disappointed by both the content of the London Irish Declaration and the forum in which it was published, not least given Gloucester Rugby’s proactive efforts later this week.

4. Gloucester Rugby will continue to try to contact London Irish through the appropriate channels. Gloucester Rugby urges the Irish to do the same.
