On Saturday, the summer sailing regatta kicked off in Gijón, with the celebration of the first day of the RCAR Summer Trophy.

A very complicated day due to the changing weather, which had both the fleet and the racing committee in suspense during the two races disputed, which was forced to modify the route in the two tests, delaying the start of the first race for almost an hour and change the race course once the first race has finished.

In the Snipe class, the top three finishers in the first round came close to the finish line, Francisco Palacio and Diego Jiménez were the first to cross the imaginary line, followed by Francisco Silvela and Álvaro López and Jaime Álvarez-Hevia e Ignacio Braña. In the second regatta of the day, Jaime Álvarez-Hevia and Ignacio Braña took first place, Francisco Palacio and Diego Jiménez took second place, with José Palacio and Alberto Súarez in third place.

Alfonso Jaudenes winner of the Trophy last year in Laser 4.7, is the first leader of the Laser Radial class, with a second and a first place in his locker, followed by Bruno González who was the best in the first round and third in the second . Santiago Mascioli closes the positions of honor by scoring a third and a second place.

In Optimist with a shorter route than the other classes in competition, the young Marta Simal is at the forefront of the classification after scoring a second and a first place, the second position is for Gonzalo Jaudenes who won the first set and was third in the second. Álvaro Alonso for his part, with a second and a third, occupies third place overall.

Finally, the Feva class that disputed only one race, the victory was for Eva Mº Martínez-Junquera and Daniela Maldonado, followed by Covadonga Fernández and Carmen Simal.
