Former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom Robbed Robbers

Wisdom, who now plays for Derby County, is now receiving hospital treatment.

Former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom is being treated in hospital after being stabbed by robbers.

Wisdom was attacked by robbers in the Toxeth region while visiting his family, shortly after appearing to strengthen Derby County in a 2-1 victory over Reading on Saturday (27/6) yesterday.

The defender is currently recovering at the hospital, with Derby confirming that Wisdom has been injured by the attack.

“Andre Wisdom has been a victim of attacks and robberies for no reason,” the club said in a statement.

“He suffered injuries that made him hospitalized.”

Wisdom initially joined Liverpool in 2008 at the age of 14, having previously been trained by the Bradford City academy.

He made his debut at Liverpool in 2012, made 19 appearances and scored one goal under the direction of Brendan Rodgers in his first season with the senior team.

The goal he scored came on his debut, which was a 5-3 victory in the Europa League against Young Boys, with Wisdom getting further first-team appearances in the following weeks, including going down on the Merseyside derby against Everton in October 2012.

In his second season he only made three appearances at the start of the competition before being loaned out to Derby County, which then became the beginning of a series of loan series.

During his loan spell, Wisdom has performed for West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and RB Salzburg before moving to Derby on a permanent contract in 2017.

Since making the transfer, Wisdom has made 58 appearances in all competitions for the Championship League club, with him scoring one goal.
