This is his 700th professional career goal: the “Pulga” (chip, in Spanish) scored 630 with Barça and 70 with the Argentine national selection, all competitions combined.
This season, Leo Messi dominates the top scorers of the Spanish league for the 4th consecutive year, with 22 goals in 28 games, against 17 in 31 games for his first pursuer, the French Karim Benzema (Real Madrid).
He joins legends
With 700 career goals, Messi crossed milestones rarely reached in the history of football, and joined football legends such as the Brazilian goal scorers Pelé and Romario, or the Hungarian Ferenc Puskas.
