FK Austria Wien wants to return to the Bundesliga supervisory board

With the early resignation of LASK President Siegmund Gruber from the Bundesliga Supervisory Board, a position has become vacant for which Austria Vienna in particular wants to make an effort.

Managing director Markus Kraetschmer added before the game against SKN St. Pölten Sky A question and answer and announced that they would like to move up to the supervisory board of the Bundesliga: “We would like to go back as Austria Vienna. The discussions in the next few weeks will show whether that must be me. It is important that we make a decision in the next club conference, “said Kraetschmer.

And further: “Siegmund Gruber acted very consistently, you have to take your hat off of it. This means that a mandate is now free. We have all moved together again in the Corona crisis and live it as a league.”

Admira President Philip Thonhauser also campaigned for an Austria mandate: “I have a good line to all colleagues on the Supervisory Board. Kraetschmer is definitely a very qualified man. We have a good line. He would certainly be qualified, but also other candidates “Because of his past in the Bundesliga he is at the top of the rumor mill, but that’s a question that will be decided at the club conference. Everyone is free to stand up.” There is currently no Viennese club on the board, and SK Rapid is also interested.

In addition, Austria is still in discussions about the possible entry of a “strategic partner”, as Kraetschmer corrected. He cannot say yet whether he comes from the domestic realms: “There are several discussion partners and interested parties from home and abroad.” The Corona crisis could also have made negotiations a bit tougher. A contract “certainly takes a month or two,” said the 39-year-old.
