Fedun allocated 9 million rubles to the monument to Cherenkov – Football

The monument to the former footballer of the USSR national team and Spartak Fedor Cherenkov will be unveiled at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow today, June 28

The Fratria Fan Association began raising funds for the Cherenkov monument in 2017. According to Sport24, the owner of Spartak Leonid Fedun supported the initiative of the fans and allocated 9 million rubles to the monument through the IFD Kapital charitable foundation for supporting social programs.

Cherenkov spent 494 matches for Spartak and scored 121 goals in them. As part of the red and white, he became the three-time champion of the USSR, the champion of Russia, the owner of the Cup of Russia.

Cherenkov was recognized as the best footballer of the USSR in 1983 and 1989. For the USSR national team, Cherenkov spent 34 matches, scored 12 goals. The USSR played 10 matches for the Olympic team and scored 6 goals, becoming the bronze medalist of the 1980 Olympic Games.
