The Rolling Stones threaten US President Donald Trump with a lawsuit if he uses one of their songs again at campaign events. Trump had recently played the Stones hit “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” on his poorly attended gig in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“This could be the last time President Donald Trump used a Stones song,” the band said in a statement on Saturday (local time).
The lawyers of the Rolling Stones are already in contact with the United States Copyright Corporation BMIto stop unauthorized use of their music. The BMI has already informed Trump’s campaign team that there should be no further performance.
The Rolling Stones have long argued with Trump and in 2016 via Twitter that they did not support him.

The Stones are not the only musicians who oppose the use of their songs in Trump’s campaign appearances.
The family of singer Tom Petty, who died in 2017, recently announced that Trump would be banned from using his songs in the election campaign. Trump used the Tom Petty hit “I Don’t Back Down” without permission at his campaign rally in Tulsa, a statement said.
Petty would never have allowed one of his songs to be used for a “campaign of hate”. He wanted to bring people together. Petty (1950-2017) and his family would be “firmly against racism and discrimination of any kind”. They have sent Trump’s campaign team an injunction, it said. The letter was signed by Petty’s daughters, ex-wife Jane and widow Dana.
Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne and Adele had also criticized Trump for the unauthorized use of their works. (Tsp, dpa)

What some horrible individuals who would treat our President like this. Guess they are off my list as they are the true haters. Thank God hundreds of quality musicians are standing with the President, and will give their help yo his campaign…
