Derby County defender Wisdom hospitalized after stab incident | NOW

Trainer Phillip Cocu has to do without Andre Wisdom at Derby County for the time being. The defender is hospitalized after being stabbed.

Derby confirmed on Monday evening that Wisdom in Liverpool has been the victim of a robbery. His condition is stable and he is expected to fully recover from his injuries.

“The club will assist Andre and his family in this situation,” Derby said in a short statement.

The 27-year-old Wisdom came to eighteen matches for the Cocu squad this season. On Saturday, he still had a starting spot in the 2-1 home game against Reading.

Derby has moved up to eighth place in the Championship after four consecutive victories. If the Cocu squad makes up for three points at number six Cardiff City in the last seven games, it may play playoffs for promotion to the Premier League.
