Darius Boyd, Corey Oates of Brisbane Broncos dropped

TO UPDATE: Corey Oates is the first major victim of the Broncos slump, in which the Origin winger was eliminated from Brisbane’s roster.

Darius Boyd was late for training with the main Broncos group, which was expected at today’s session due to suspected injury concerns, but is expected to survive if dropped.

The former skipper did not participate in the first 15 minutes of the session. The club said he only rested to refresh himself.

Then he took his place in the left center and trained in Jamayne Isaako.

With Brisbane losing five games to the Warriors on Saturday, Isaako is likely to be recalled to the wing to replace Oates with the former Rabbitoh Richie Kennar, who was put on the bench.

Pat Carrigan and Tom Flegler also return to the Broncos squad after banning a game, which prevented them from playing Brisbane’s embarrassing defeat against the Titan at Suncorp Stadium.

Origin striker Joe Ofahengaue will miss the game, however, and striker colleague Matt Lodge is in doubt after not training today due to a leg injury.
