Brendon Todd fell out of contention thanks to a recognizable collapse

PGA golfer Brendon Todd played golf on the weekend during the Traveler Championship. With only seven holes left, Todd found himself in second place and only two shots ahead. He had to feel good about that position.

But golf – at any time – tends to humiliate even the most talented golfer.

Sunday was Todd’s turn.

Todd entered the twelfth par-4 with two shots ahead of Dustin Johnson, but eventually went to the 13th five shots ahead and basically out of action. This is because Todd – apparently out of nowhere – experienced a slump in golf that made him look like a normal amateur golfer.

It’s not much more like that: find yourself cutting the edge of the bunker and throwing the ball completely on the green. We have all been there.

Todd should have escaped 12th with a triple bogey. But hey, at least there was no crowd to witness the collapse in person.
