Blues Mid underlines the difference between Brendon Bolton and David Teague

Carlton midfield Ed Curnow loves working under coach David Teague.

Teague temporarily replaced Brendon Bolton in June last year before getting the senior job for three years after leading the blues to five wins from his first seven responsible games.

The former assistant coach of Adelaide, West Coast and St. Kilda led Carlton to a 2-2 start to the 2020 season, including a shock victory against multi-year finalist Geelong at the GMHBA stadium.

Keep talking SEN breakfastCurnow explained how the coaching philosophies differ from Bolton and Teague.

“When Bolts came to the club, he had a lot of discipline and strategy on how we wanted to defend ourselves. It did a lot of great things for our club, it really set us up, ”said Curnow.

“Teague’s role was very different.

“The way he trains is more about the ball movement and the view of space and how we see space on the ground and how we can better use it to score faster.

“I enjoyed working with both of them, but I love being with Teague right now.”

Since acquiring Bolton, Teague has won eight of 15 games with a win rate of 53.3 percent.

Carlton is looking for a third consecutive win against St. Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.
