AS Monaco’s PSG game was canceled due to torrential rain

The Ligue 1 game between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco was postponed due to torrential rain, both clubs announced on Sunday.

The game was supposed to take place at the Stade Louis II in Monaco at 21:00, but was canceled due to bad weather conditions.

A PSG statement read: “Due to extreme weather conditions in the Alpes-Maritimes region, the principality’s authorities decided to call up for the Ligue 1 game on Sunday.

“About 1,000 Parisian fans were expected this evening. The club will contact them by email to discuss the steps to take regarding ticket exchange or refund.”

The French Football League (LFP) is set to confirm an alternative date for the tournament to be played.

Torrential rain and the risk of floods have prompted local authorities to issue a red alert in the region.

PSG have five points ahead of the table, while Monaco are in 14th position.
