Albrighton excited by Chelsea clash “Fantastic”

Winger Marc Albrighton looks forward to the Emirates Cup of England quarter-final game against Chelsea at King Power Stadium.

– Chelsea will visit King Power Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday (kick-off 16:00)
– The quarterfinal draw will be staged behind closed doors on Filbert Way
– Marc Albrighton is excited about the challenge to face Frank Lampard’s Blues
– The wing says the city is determined to do everything it can to progress

The foxes will host Frank Lampard’s Blues on Filbert Way in the third round of both teams which will be staged behind closed doors since English football has returned after a three-month break in the game.

City and Chelsea have met twice in the Premier League during this time, drawing on both occasions, and are separated by one place in the top flight table with seven games to play.

Having seen Lampard’s men in action since the reboot, Albrighton, 30 years old, has no illusions that Sunday meeting it will be a difficult challenge for Leicester.

“Obviously, I’m a fantastic side,” said the former Aston Villa midfielder LCFC TV. “The other day I saw them and they also have qualities on the pitch and on the bench.

In the two games we’ve played so far, it’s not the results we wanted. We obviously wanted six points on those two games.

“I am a well organized side with a lot of quality, so it will be difficult. But we are too, so it will be a fantastic game and we hope to be the best.”

After two draws for Foxes last week, Albrighton has admitted that he and his teammates are determined to secure a first win from a restart as soon as possible.

“It’s huge for us,” he added. “In the two games we’ve played so far, it’s not the results we wanted. We obviously wanted six points on those two games.

“We have not been able to do this. We haven’t lost the games, which is good that we can take, but in the end, we have to win those types of games to stay online for our goal. “

Albrighton, who joined the Club in 2014, says that a shift in focus towards cup functions could be helpful for the Foxes as they shift their focus to reaching a first FA Cup semi-final since 1982.

“We will change it this weekend, going to the FA Cup rather than the Premier League and that’s probably a good thing,” he continued.

“We have had a couple of games now to understand how it will be and how it will be different, so there is no excuse now. We have to go out and perform well.”
